A radiologist from a private scanning center in Anekal is currently evading authorities following the circulation of a video on social media that allegedly depicts him sexually assaulting a 34-year-old woman during an ultrasound examination. The police have initiated a case based on the woman’s complaint and are actively seeking to apprehend the suspect.
Details of the Complaint
The woman, a mother of three, reported that during the ultrasound, the radiologist inappropriately touched her. When she confronted him regarding his conduct, he allegedly responded by shouting at her and told her to leave if she did not trust him. After disclosing the incident to her husband, he advised her to return to the room and record the procedure.
The viral video reportedly shows the radiologist performing the ultrasound while inappropriately touching the woman’s private areas.
Timeline of Events
The incident occurred around 3 PM on Monday when the woman visited the center with her husband, following a referral from a government hospital to undergo the scan. On November 7, after presenting with an illness, the woman was directed to have the scan. The radiologist had instructed her to consume two glasses of water prior to the procedure.
While lying on the examination bed, the woman alleged that the radiologist began touching her inappropriately. Upon questioning his actions, she was met with hostility. Disturbed by the encounter, she informed her husband after exiting the scan room. He then encouraged her to document the procedure if she chose to return.
Upon re-entering, she reportedly activated her mobile camera, capturing further inappropriate behavior from the radiologist. After leaving the room, she promptly reported the incident to the police.
Police Response and Family Protest
The woman stated that the radiologist threatened her life if she disclosed the incident to anyone. There are claims that the radiologist was brought to the police station by the woman’s family; however, he was allowed to leave without further action and subsequently fled in his SUV. This led to the family staging a protest outside the police station.
In response to the allegations, a senior officer from the Anekal police station denied any claims of a protest and asserted that the allegations were unfounded. He emphasized that the radiologist remains at large and that efforts to apprehend him are ongoing. The officer questioned how the suspect could have been released in such a serious matter if he had indeed been brought to the station.
Legal Charges Filed
The police have registered a case against the radiologist, which includes charges of sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult with the intent to provoke a breach of peace.
