Born in Pathsala, Dr. Agrawala completed his early schooling there before pursuing his medical education at Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh. He earned his MBBS in 1974 and later received his MD in 1979.

In 1979, Dr. Agrawala began his medical career in Bongaigaon by establishing a small clinic that offered consultations for just five rupees, making healthcare accessible to all community members. In 1985, he made a significant impact by founding SM Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, which became Bongaigaon’s first private hospital.
