Update on Chhapra Doctor Kidnapping Case
Arrests Made by Saran Police
In a significant development in the Chhapra doctor kidnapping case, the Saran police in Bihar have apprehended six suspects, including the alleged mastermind—a local anaesthesiologist who resided with the victim. During the arrest, two suspects sustained gunshot wounds to the leg while attempting to escape.
Details from the Police Press Conference
Saran Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kumar Ashish addressed the media on Friday evening, clarifying that the kidnapping was an internal plot rather than the work of an outside gang. “The entire crime was orchestrated by an anaesthesiologist who lived with Dr. Sajal Kumar. He hired criminals to kidnap the doctor and planned to demand a ransom of approximately Rs 1 crore,” Ashish stated, as reported by the news agency IANS.
