Study Overview

A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition explored the impact of high-protein diets on weight management following weight loss. Participants were divided into four groups: one received whey powder combined with calcium, another received only whey powder, a third group received soy powder, and the control group was given maltodextrin powder.

Findings

Researchers measured fat mass and body composition before and after the study, along with assessing blood pressure and blood biochemistry. The findings showed no significant differences in body composition or blood chemistry among the four groups. This suggests that variations in protein intake alone may not be sufficient to influence body composition.
