New Developments in Red Fort Blast Case

Court Proceedings and Custody Details

New Delhi: A Delhi court has remanded three doctors and a preacher to 12 days of judicial custody in connection with the November 10 Red Fort blast case, according to officials. The individuals involved—Dr. Muzammil Ganai, Dr. Adeel Rather, Dr. Shaheena Saeed, and Maulvi Irfan Ahmed Wagay—were presented before Principal and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna at the Patiala House Courts after their four-day custody with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) expired on December 8.

Additional Accusations and Evidence Collection

Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla, another accused, was also brought before Judge Chandna to verify his voice sample. The NIA has arrested a total of eight individuals in this case, which is linked to a ‘white collar’ terror module uncovered by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

Details on Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla

Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla, who hails from Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir, was apprehended in Delhi on December 9 and is considered a key figure in the conspiracy. The NIA has indicated that Dr. Malla knowingly provided logistical support to the deceased accused, Umar Un Nabi, and is also implicated in the destruction of evidence related to the terrorist attack.

Ongoing Investigations and Terror Module Insights

The NIA continues to explore various leads connected to the suicide bombing, conducting searches across multiple states in coordination with local police forces to identify and apprehend additional individuals involved in the incident. Dr. Umar Un Nabi was identified as the driver of the explosive-laden i20 car that detonated outside the Red Fort on November 10, resulting in the deaths of 15 people and injuring many others.

Reports indicate that the sophisticated terror module, allegedly led by a group of doctors, had been actively searching for a suicide bomber since the previous year, with Umar being the primary planner of the attack.
