Disturbing Incident in Haryana’s Karnal District

Rescue of 80-Year-Old Homoeopathic Doctor

In a troubling situation in Karnal district, Haryana, an 80-year-old bedridden homoeopathic doctor was rescued by a social welfare organization. The doctor, Harnail Singh, was discovered living in appalling conditions at his home. Concerned neighbors alerted the Apna Ashiana Organisation after detecting a foul odor emanating from his residence.

Condition of Harnail Singh

Reports from PTI indicate that Raj Kumar Arora, the head of the NGO, shared that Singh had been practicing at charitable dispensaries while living alone for the past 10 to 15 years. Following her retirement, Singh’s wife moved to Australia to live with their two daughters, leaving him to fend for himself. According to Arora, neither Singh’s wife nor his daughters had visited him in recent years.

State of Neglect

Upon entering Singh’s home, Arora described the situation as dire. “He was bedridden for the past two months and was defecating there itself,” he reported, highlighting the severe neglect the elderly doctor had experienced. Until a few years prior, Singh was able to leave his house and subsist on whatever food he could find. However, as his health declined, a neighbor initially helped by providing meals but eventually stopped due to the unpleasant odor from the house.

Current Status and Assistance

Arora successfully brought Singh to the Apna Ashiana Ashram’s shelter, where his health has since improved. “His health is fine now. We will now take care of him,” stated Arora. Additionally, several homoeopathic doctors have reached out to Arora, offering their assistance to support Singh during this challenging time.
