Rajkot SOG Takes Action Against Illegal Medical Practices
Raids in Khodpipar Village
In an effort to combat illegal medical activities and protect public health, the Rajkot District Special Operations Group (SOG) conducted a raid in Khodpipar village, located in Paddhari taluka, resulting in the arrest of a fraudulent doctor. This action was prompted by a tip-off regarding an individual suspected of operating an unauthorized medical practice in the area.
Details of the Arrest
Following the tip-off, the SOG team swiftly executed a raid at the identified location, apprehending the accused. Investigations revealed that the individual had been administering allopathic medicines and providing injections to patients, despite lacking a valid medical degree or any proper qualifications. Authorities seized a substantial quantity of medicines and medical equipment from the bogus doctor, who posed a significant risk to public health. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused, as reported by the Sandesh.
Previous Incidents of Medical Fraud
This incident is not an isolated case in Rajkot. Earlier this year, the SOG apprehended two other quacks for operating illegal clinics. One of the suspects possessed only a class 10 qualification, while the other held a homoeopathic degree. During those operations, police confiscated medical equipment, drugs, and injections valued at over Rs 32,000.
Continued Efforts to Address Medical Malpractice
The Rajkot Special Operations Group has been actively working to eliminate the dangers posed by unqualified medical practitioners. Recently, they arrested two quacks for running illegal clinics without the necessary medical credentials. These clinics, located within the jurisdictions of the Gondal Taluka and Shapar-Veraval police stations, were uncovered during a raid that resulted in the seizure of medical supplies worth Rs 32,333.
