Srinagar: Family of Arrested Doctor Denies Terror Involvement

Background of the Arrest

In a recent development, a doctor was arrested in Faridabad after authorities discovered 360 kilograms of explosives in his rented room on Tuesday. His family has vehemently denied any allegations of his involvement in terrorist activities.

Family’s Statement on Allegations

Speaking to PTI from their home in Pulwama, the brother of the accused doctor expressed his disbelief regarding the charges, stating, “It is being alleged that he is a big terrorist. We have no knowledge of it. For the past five decades, there has been no case against anyone from our family.” He mentioned that their family, primarily farmers, has faced harassment from stone-pelters in the past due to their nationalistic sentiments.

Connections to Recent Terror Incidents

Medic Helpline recently highlighted a deadly car blast near the Red Fort area in New Delhi on Monday evening, which resulted in eight fatalities and 20 injuries. This incident has unveiled disturbing connections, suggesting that some doctors may be linked to a broader terror network with ties to international handlers operating from Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as connections to the Pulwama attack.

Recent Arrests in the Medical Community

The arrest of a doctor based in Hyderabad has further exposed a concerning terror network involving radicalized medical professionals and chemical weapons. This network reportedly has links to international operatives, raising significant security concerns.

Family’s Defense of the Doctor

The brother of the arrested doctor emphasized their patriotism, stating, “We are completely Indians and we have taken stones for India. You can verify it from anyone in the village.” He described his brother as a “good person,” adding that they have not been permitted to meet him since his arrest.

Personal Circumstances Surrounding the Arrest

The brother also mentioned that the doctor had returned home to attend their sister’s wedding, which was scheduled for Sunday but has since been canceled due to the ongoing situation. Previously, the accused doctor had visited Kashmir for their father’s surgical procedure, according to his sibling.
