Hyderabad MBBS Admission Fraud Case

Overview of the Incident

In a recent case of admission fraud in Hyderabad, a 44-year-old obstetrician and gynecologist was deceived by a consultancy while seeking MBBS admission for her son. The accused reportedly collected money from multiple parents, allegedly amassing around Rs 1.15 crore.

Investigation and Police Action

Following the revelation of the fraud, the Madhuranagar police initiated a case, which has since been transferred to the Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) for further investigation. The consultancy firm involved specializes in NEET Counseling and is based in Ameerpet, providing admission guidance.

Details of the Fraud

According to police reports, the doctor discovered the consultancy through a Facebook advertisement. After contacting them, she signed an agreement and paid a service charge of ₹5 lakh. On November 20, 2025, she was informed that her son had been admitted to a private medical college in LB Nagar, leading her to pay an additional ₹13.9 lakh in fees. However, she later found out that the allotment letter was fraudulent. Upon realizing this, she requested a refund, but the consultancy allegedly delayed the repayment.

Complaint and Allegations Against the Consultancy

The doctor subsequently filed a complaint naming the operational director, director, and other team members, demanding her money back. Reports indicate that the consultancy also collected varying amounts from other parents, including ₹3 lakh, ₹15.3 lakh, ₹5.75 lakh, and ₹13 lakh, in addition to the ₹5 lakh.

Current Status of the Investigation

The CCS police have re-registered the case under relevant sections of the law and have commenced an investigation. This case follows a similar instance reported by Medic Helpline, where a man from Haryana was defrauded of Rs 25 lakh under promises of securing his daughter’s admission to an MBBS course.
