Research on Activity Intensity and Well-Being

Despite the established advantages of physical activity, the specific impact of exercise intensity on psychological well-being remains less understood. A study published in the Journal of Health Psychology in 2017 aimed to address this gap. Researchers examined how different levels of physical activity intensity influence participants’ perceptions of their well-being.

The findings indicated that light and moderate-intensity physical activities were linked to enhanced psychological well-being and decreased levels of depression. Moreover, moderate-intensity activities were associated with lower pain severity among participants.
