Migraine Canada Announces Third Annual Move for Migraine Event

Combating Stigma and Supporting Affected Canadians

Migraine Canada is set to host its third annual “Move for Migraine” event from June 15th to June 23rd. This initiative aims to unite the community in addressing the stigma surrounding migraines and to support Canadians affected by this condition. By sharing personal experiences, participants can help raise awareness about the impact of migraines, thereby reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Voices of the Community

Wendy Gerhart, Executive Director of Migraine Canada, emphasizes the importance of this event. “Move for Migraine was started because I saw a need for our voices to be heard, a need for education, and a need for community. Move for Migraine is more than just a fundraiser; it is going to have a lasting impact on our community for years to come,” said Christina Sall, founder of Move for Migraine. Participants are encouraged to engage in various activities such as skating, biking, or running to promote awareness of the debilitating effects of migraines.

Illuminating Awareness

In a show of solidarity, landmarks across Canada will be illuminated with purple lights to symbolize migraine awareness during the event.
