In a recent tweet, G Srinivasa Rao, the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, announced that Telangana recorded 474 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the state’s total to 285,068. Among these new cases, 54 were reported in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and 15 in Rangareddy. The total number of recoveries in Telangana has now reached 277,304.
Analysis of COVID-19 Case Progression
A comparison of COVID-19 case statistics from June to August reveals a significant shift in the progression of the virus in Telangana. In June, 83% of positive cases were reported, with GHMC accounting for 13,508 cases. By August, this percentage had declined to 21%, with a total of 2,649,856 cases, of which GHMC reported 10,508. This marks a notable change in case distribution from June to August.
COVID-19 Cases and Tests in Khammam
Last week, Khammam recorded the highest number of positive cases at 699, leading to a significant influx of patients at COVID care centers. A total of 2,591 samples were collected through rapid antigen tests (RAT), resulting in 589 positive cases. In response to the growing demand, Medify is now offering COVID-19 testing in Khammam.
