According to previous reports by Medical Dialogues, the survey was conducted across 18 government medical colleges in Maharashtra. The findings revealed a consistent 25% shortfall in authorized security personnel, with 33% of medical colleges failing to make timely stipend payments. Additionally, 11% of resident doctors reported feeling unsafe in their environments.

Specific Issues Raised at MPGIMER and GMC Nashik

The delegation specifically highlighted serious concerns faced by resident doctors at MPGIMER and GMC Nashik, focusing on stipend issues, security, and hostel living conditions. The Principal Secretary assured attendees that these matters would be addressed with the Vice Chancellor of MUHS and that appropriate steps would be taken for prompt resolutions.
