Visit Overview

New Delhi: On Wednesday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted an inspection of the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital located in Dilshad Garden. During her visit, she emphasized the importance of timely treatment, the uninterrupted supply of medicines, and sensitive interactions with patients.

Review of Hospital Facilities

The Chief Minister assessed the medical arrangements, patient facilities, and the administrative systems in place. She engaged with patients and held discussions with doctors, nursing staff, and other healthcare personnel to gain insights into the hospital’s operations. According to a recent UNI report, she reiterated the need for timely treatment and constant availability of medications.

Commitment to Quality Healthcare

Gupta highlighted the Delhi government’s dedication to providing quality, accessible, and compassionate healthcare services to all citizens. She reviewed cleanliness in the hospital, the functionality of medical equipment, and overall patient convenience, issuing necessary instructions for improvements.

Focus on Patient Care

The Chief Minister specifically interacted with women patients, inquiring about the treatment and services they were receiving. She instructed healthcare personnel to maintain a sensitive, dignified, and courteous approach towards patients at every level. Gupta stressed that senior citizens and women should receive special attention, priority, and additional care to ensure they do not encounter any inconveniences during their treatment.

Enhancing Healthcare Experience

During her discussions with female patients, Gupta requested feedback on their experiences with the hospital’s services. She directed that facilitative mechanisms be established at all stages of care—from registration and diagnostics to treatment and medication availability, particularly for elderly individuals and women in wards and ICUs. She noted that healthcare should encompass more than just medical treatment, aiming to foster a sense of safety, trust, and compassion among patients, as reported by UNI.

Following her inspection of the hospital, the Chief Minister attended a special event organized by ‘Maa Shakti Sanstha’ to honor Divyangjan, commemorating the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During the event, she presented the ‘Divya Atal Awards’ to recognize the resilience and achievements of Divyangjan.
