Thiruvananthapuram: Dr. C.A. Raman, a distinguished Ayurveda physician and former Director of Ayurveda in Kerala, passed away on Friday at the age of 94. He succumbed to age-related ailments while receiving care at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

Dr. Raman’s career in Ayurveda spanned several decades, during which he made significant contributions to the field. After retiring from his role as the Director of Ayurveda, he dedicated himself to Ayurveda tourism, serving as the chief physician at Somatheeram Ayurvedic Hospital and Yoga Centre since 1995. His expertise helped thousands adopt healthier lifestyles, making him a beloved figure in the Ayurvedic community.

Additionally, Dr. Raman was recognized by the Kerala government as a special officer for Folk Medical Therapy, reflecting his vast knowledge of traditional healing practices.

Public Homage and Funeral Arrangements

A public homage for Dr. Raman will take place at Somatheeram Ayurvedic Hospital and Yoga Centre on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. His funeral is scheduled for Sunday at 12 PM at Santhi Kavadam in Thiruvananthapuram. Dr. Raman is survived by his children, including M.R. Beenarani and R. Subhash (KSRTC), along with his children-in-law: Prameela Santhosh, P. Sasidharan, and P.T. Omana. His wife, C.K. Lalitha, predeceased him.
