Tragic Loss to the Medical Community

Nagpur has mourned the sudden passing of Dr. Chandrashekhar Pakhmode, a distinguished neurosurgeon with over 25 years of experience, who died at the age of 53 due to a heart attack. Details of the Incident

Dr. Pakhmode, affiliated with Neuron Hospital in Dhantoli, collapsed around 6 am on Wednesday shortly after leaving his home in Ramdaspeth. His wife, Dr. Manisha Pakhmode, an anaesthetist, immediately attempted to resuscitate him before rushing him to the hospital, where he was placed on ventilator support. Despite the efforts of a team of senior cardiologists who performed chest compressions for nearly two hours and administered 50 to 60 DC shocks to stabilize his heart rhythm, they were unable to revive him.

Dr. Pakhmode’s Legacy

Dr. Pakhmode is survived by his 80-year-old mother, wife, son Dr. Advait, and daughter, who is currently a medical student. His last rites were conducted at Mokshadam, attended by numerous medical professionals, patients, family members, and friends. Widely respected for his clinical expertise, Dr. Pakhmode was known for managing complex neurological and neurosurgical cases with precision and confidence, significantly advancing neurosurgical services in Nagpur and surrounding areas.

An alumnus of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur, he was also passionate about fitness.
