On this day in 1632, Dutch tradesman and scientist Antonie van Leeuwenhoek was born. He is widely regarded as the ‘Father of Microbiology’ for his pioneering work in documenting microscopic observations, particularly of bacteria and muscle fibers.
John Brereton Barlow (1924)
