New Delhi: The Govind Ballabh Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (GIPMER) has announced openings for the position of Senior Resident on a contract basis across various specialties. This esteemed institution holds a unique status recognized by the Medical Council of India and the University Grants Commission as an independent postgraduate college affiliated with Delhi University.

The foundation stone of Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital was laid in October 1961, and it was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on April 30, 1964. Initially starting with 229 beds, the hospital has grown to accommodate over 700 beds (714 beds). Today, it stands as an internationally recognized tertiary care institution specializing in heart, brain, gastrointestinal, and psychiatric disorders, providing super specialty care to approximately 300,000 outpatients and nearly 15,000 patients in general and private wards annually.

Application Process for Eligible Candidates

1. Appointment is contingent upon medical fitness and the verification of educational qualifications, age, caste, and DMC registration certificates.
2. The number of vacancies may vary and may be filled in phases.
3. A separate panel of waitlisted candidates will be established.
4. No travel allowance (TA) or daily allowance (DA) will be provided for attending the interview.
5. The appointment and services of selected Senior Residents will adhere to the Residency Scheme.
6. If the interview cannot be completed on the scheduled date, it will be conducted on the next working day.
7. Personal inquiries or correspondence will not be entertained.
8. Candidates must bring all original documents along with self-attested photocopies on the interview date and at the time of joining.
9. Candidates are advised to regularly check the Institute’s website for updates.
10. **Fees Payable**: Rs. 300 (Non-refundable) in cash or demand draft issued by a nationalized bank in favor of the Medical Superintendent, G.B. Pant Hospital, payable in New Delhi. Eligible candidates can deposit the fee in cash at the Cashier in the Accounts branch of GIPMER.

Legal Jurisdiction

In the event of any legal disputes, the jurisdiction will be limited to Delhi/New Delhi only.
