Incident at Saadat Hospital in Tonk
Allegations Against Senior Medical Officer
In a troubling event at Saadat Hospital in Tonk, a senior medical officer is accused of urinating in front of patients, including women and their attendants, while under the influence of alcohol. This incident reportedly occurred on Monday night around 10:30 PM when the doctor entered Ward 20 in a visibly intoxicated state, staggering and mumbling.
Response of Hospital Staff
Despite the shocking nature of the event, hospital staff did not intervene initially. Instead, they brought a wheelchair to the Principal Medical Officer (PMO), Dr. Hanuman Bairwa, who later assisted in removing the doctor from the ward and taking him home.
Details of the Disturbing Behavior
Eyewitness accounts describe the doctor entering the ward in a disoriented state, where he reportedly proceeded to lower his pants and urinate in front of both male and female patients, as well as their attendants. This behavior caused considerable discomfort and embarrassment among those present. Following the incident, the doctor is said to have lost his balance and fallen to the floor. When patients attempted to confront him about his actions, he allegedly continued to mumble incoherently and did not respond appropriately, remaining on the floor for an extended period.
Intervention by the Principal Medical Officer
Eventually, patients requested that the ward staff relocate the doctor, but staff members continued to observe without taking action. Upon receiving information about the situation, Dr. Bairwa intervened, and the doctor was placed in a wheelchair and taken home.
Official Statement from PMO Dr. Bairwa
In a statement to Dainik Bhaskar, Dr. Bairwa confirmed that the doctor had taken leave to visit Jaipur but returned on the same day. Upon his arrival in the ward, the doctor was found seated quietly in a wheelchair and inebriated. Dr. Bairwa emphasized that while the doctor’s personal life may be private, arriving at the hospital in an intoxicated state is unacceptable. He noted that the doctor is still on leave and has not yet undergone a medical examination. Dr. Bairwa stated that future incidents of this nature would prompt immediate action.

Additionally, a video circulating online shows the doctor in a similar state while on emergency duty, further raising concerns about his conduct and the hospital’s response to such incidents.
