Doctors Urge Refund of NEET SS 2024 Counselling Fees
Pending Refunds Affecting Thousands
New Delhi: Approximately 10,000 candidates are currently awaiting the reimbursement of their NEET SS 2024 counselling fees. In response to this situation, doctors have called on the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to expedite the refund process. A letter addressed to the MCC Chairperson emphasizes the significant distress caused by the ongoing delay in issuing refunds.
Concerns Raised by FAIMA
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) noted, “Nearly 10,000 candidates are still awaiting the refund of their NEET SS 2024 counselling fees—an issue that has lingered for over four months since the conclusion of the counselling process.” With the NEET SS 2025 exams approaching next month, the extended delay is affecting the financial stability of these candidates and creating uncertainty regarding their future plans. FAIMA has urged the MCC Chairman to prioritize the resolution of this matter and expedite the refund process.
Statements from FAIMA Leadership
Dr. Akshay Dongardive, the National President of FAIMA, expressed serious concern about the delays, stating, “FAIMA expresses serious concern over the prolonged delay in the refund of NEET SS 2024 counselling fees, which has affected nearly 10,000 medical aspirants across the country.” He emphasized that the wait for refunds is particularly challenging for young doctors already facing academic, emotional, and financial pressures.
Impact on Aspirants
Dr. Dongardive further explained, “It is directly impacting the financial stability and future plans of aspiring super-specialists. Such uncertainty harms the credibility of the counselling system and diminishes the trust students place in regulatory bodies.” He called for swift, transparent, and accountable action from the MCC, urging the Chairperson to expedite the refund process to prevent further inconvenience to candidates.
FAIMA’s Commitment
FAIMA reiterated its support for all affected aspirants and pledged to continue advocating for timely refunds. “We urge MCC to demonstrate its commitment to fairness by resolving this matter without any further delay,” Dr. Dongardive concluded.
